Drawer slides have a long history and are the first generation of silent drawer slides. At present, in the new generation of furniture, it has been slowly replaced by steel ball slide rails. Roller slide rail structure is simple, consisting of a pulley and two tracks, can meet the needs of daily push and pull, but the bearing capacity is poor, there is no buffering and rebound function, so it is often used in computer keyboard drawers and light drawers.
Stainless steel ball drawer slide rail is basically two or three sections of stainless steel slide rail, more commonly installed on the side of the drawer structure, installation is relatively simple, save space. High-quality steel ball slide rail can ensure smooth pushing and pulling, large load carrying capacity, this kind of slide rail can have the function of buffering closure or pressing down to rebound open. Modern furniture and steel ball slide rails are gradually replacing slide rails and becoming the main force of modern furniture slides.

Gear-type cycling rails belong to medium and high-grade slides, and there are hidden slides, cycling slides and other slide types. The gear structure is used to make the slide rails very smooth and synchronized. This sliding rail also has the function of cushioning off or pressing rebound opening, and is mostly used for medium and high-end furniture. Because it is both expensive and rare in modern furniture, it is not as popular as steel ball slides. This slide rail is the trend of the future.
Why do stainless steel slide rails rust? Stainless steel slide rails are usually made of 304 stainless steel or 201 stainless steel. Stainless steel has the characteristics of corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, easy processing, high hardness and good ductility. It is widely used in all walks of life, but stainless steel will rust after a long time of use, which is not a quality problem, but caused by the use environment.
So why do stainless steel slides rust? This is because stainless steel can resist the corrosion of some acids, alkalis and salts in dry air, and can prevent rust in the air of general humidity; however, in coastal cities with a lot of salt spray in the air, stainless steel is easy to rust, because stainless steel is an extremely thin, strong and fine and stable chromium-rich oxide film (protective film), formed on its surface, preventing oxygen atoms from continuing to penetrate and continue to oxidize, thereby obtaining anti-rust ability. Once the film is constantly destroyed for some reason, the oxygen atoms in the air or liquid will continue to penetrate, or the iron atoms in the metal will continue to precipitate to form a loose iron oxide, and the metal surface will continue to be corroded.
There are many forms of damage to this surface film, and there are several common in daily life: the surface of stainless steel has accumulated dust or attachments of heterogeneous metal particles containing other metal elements, and in humid air, the condensate between the attachment and stainless steel will connect the two into a micro-battery, triggering an electrochemical reaction, and the protective film is damaged, called electrochemical corrosion. The surface of stainless steel adheres to organic juice (such as melon vegetables, noodle soup, phlegm, etc.), which constitutes organic acids in the case of water and oxygen, and the corrosion of the metal surface by organic acids for a long time. Stainless steel surface adhesion contains acid, alkali, salt substances (such as alkali water decoration wall, lime water splash), causing local corrosion. In polluted air (such as an atmosphere containing a large amount of sulfides, carbon carbon, and nitrogen oxides), when it encounters condensate, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, and acetic acid points are formed, causing chemical corrosion.
